Religion .. what is it?

I grew up raised to be a Catholic.
Baptized, Communionized (??), and Confirmed
I am now 20
yet i still do not know the true meaning of those three things
i only went through with it to please my parents and to be like everyone else
but does that make me Catholic?

I was always told .. praise God .. go to church .. blah blah blah
but when you go to church ..
do you really listen to the sermon??
do you take it in and analyze it?
relate to it?? see the meaning of it??
or is it in one ear and out the other?

how many of you went to church just to see your friends?

When i would sin ..
I'd go to confession, get my penance
do the penance and not even care
I didn't feel bad for the things i did
hell, i did them again when i got home

I can't stand it when someone tells me
" ___ is the right religion"
"Yours is wrong"
"This is the Truth"
"If you do this ... you'll go to heaven"
"If you be this ... God will bless you"

I hate it when people force religion on me
especially those who frown on other religions or no religion
yet they don't even understand their own
they can be soOo naive

There are just some people ..
who are soOo malicious and deceiving
yet they are soOo religious
but doesn't somewhere in your religion
frown upon being that?

What's worse .. ?
Following your religion with absolutely no faith
Or not following any religion at all?

i know i know
" you just have to believe .. you have to have faith"

but is that all it takes??
